Employee analytics is the use of existing data to unfold the power of the employees. It has brought a new discipline in HR, wherein Directors make decisions based on the stated facts. Sentiment analysis is used to understand the attitude, opinions and emotions behind the words. Combining this with employee analytics provides a deep insight for monitoring capabilities in workforce.
Organizations like Twitter, IBM, Intel and Accenture have started using sentimental analysis tool to know how their employees feel at work place, and also to identify problems which might have escaped by the immediate supervisor. Twitter, hired Kanjoya (company) to analyse the responses of the employees at workplace. The questions asked were mostly open ended. Analysis tool ran extracting patterns; answers which were narrative were shared with the top level executives.
Organizations such as IBM also focus on analysing employees chatter outside the surveys or formal reviews. It has developed internal social networking platform where employees can post and comment. Such a platform is available to almost 380,000 employees in almost 170countries. It functions like Dropbox, Facebook and many more. The software helped in managing widespread complaints wherein, employees were unhappy with their performances in the terms it was graded.
With Social listening capabilities, it is easier to make reliable decisions with in a time frame.
