Human decisions rely heavily on emotions. Neuroscience research at the University of Southern California stated that emotions are required in all decisions, including shopping. There is a great influence of emotions on the buying behavior of a customer.
Marketers can use this as an advantage by taking some clues, such as:
1. Paying attention to headlines: Buzz sumo analyzed that simply using the word ‘Love’ can have an enormous effect on shares and social media. For increasing the view of the content negative superlatives should be used instead of positive ones.
2. Humor: People who connect online want to extend their sense of humor. Content should be such that people can laugh and enjoy, which will help in increasing the shares on social media.
3. Wow Factor: Product should reach to people with the sense of curiosity so that it creates a wow feeling amongst them. When people get something unexpected or mysterious they want to know more and click content.
4. Images: Humans are the slaves to instinct first. Hence, pictures or mages are closely related to emotions. It has been proven that Images has the power to release hormones which in turn elicit emotions which can’t be controlled.
By understanding how the brain relies on emotions, it will help marketers in making decisions; which in turn can help them in boosting their sales and leads.
